The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, has named Fordham's senior pitcher Jen Mineau and Massachusetts' senior pitcher Sara Plourde to its initial "Watch List" for the 11th Annual USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award. These two Atlantic 10 Conference performers are two of the 50 players nationally to be named to the list.

The Atlantic 10 Conference softball umpires and women's basketball officials will honor former coordinator and observer Nick Cinquanto by wearing a commemorative black patch during A-10 games this season. Cinquanto passed away Sunday, January 22.

Fordham's Jen Mineau (Schaghticoke, New York/Hoosic Valley Central) was among thirty NCAA® softball student-athletes who excel both on and off the field that were selected as candidates for the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award it was announced today. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.

Massachusetts' Stephanie Mayne and Sara Plourde were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday. Rhode Island's Meg Kelly and Lauren Rendon of Saint Joseph's were also honored as the Conference's Co-Rookies of the Week.
